A Thank Your Card for Our Veterans

Used the sketch from MFT Wednesday Stamp club to create this Veteran Thank You card.  A couple years ago my sister asked if I could make some Veteran's Day cards for the residents of a Veteran's home that she volunteers at.  Of course I said yes, I would be honored to.  The least I could do for someone who sacrificed so much.  So every year since I have been humbly making Veteran Day cards for the residents of the home.

I flipped the sketch for this card.  The stamp is from Our Daily Bread Designs.  Stamped it with Memento Ink then used my Prismacolor pencils to add the red and blue colors.  Layered the image on a label cut with my Cricut. I then added some seam binding.  Added a glittery star with a thank you tag tied to it with blue twine.
Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings and wishes for a Happy Fourth of July!

Fishing in the Morning

Created this masculine birthday card using Flourishes "Kids Play" stamp set.  Used the brayer to try and create a sun rise background.  Used this weeks Tuesday Morning Sketch for the layout.

The background paper I purchased a Hobby Lobby, it's The Linen Door from The Paper Studio.  The stitched ribbon is from the dollar bin at Michaels.  I actually messed up the sentiment when I tried to stamp it directly onto the background paper.  So I cut a label that was left over from another project and stamped the sentiment onto that and adhered it to the card.
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet!
Blessings!

Birthday Flowers

Used Flourishes "Garden Gate" stamp to create this birthday card.
Stamped the image on craft card stock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  Used some watercolor pencils to color in the image before fussy cutting away one side of the image.  Die cut a scalloped oval and sponged on some Close to My Heart Garden Green ink while still in the die.  The Happy Birthday is an old SU sentiment set.  Colored some twine with the Garden Green ink and scattered a few gems in the flowers.

So Happy

Created a little thank you card using my Flourishes Garden Gate stamp set.
Embossed the brown panel with a wood grain embossing folder.  Then sanded it to give it added texture.  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol; then fussy cut it out.  Added lace to one side of the panel and a twine bow.  Stamped the sentiment, punched it out, sponged on some ink and added three pearls.  The image and sentiment were adhered with foam tape.

Happy Father's Day

Sharing the Father's Day card I made today.  Used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches for the layout.

Used Sweet and Sassy's stamp set Shining Light for the image and sentiment.  Colored the image with Prismacolor pencils.  Tried to create a sunrise effect by sponging on ink   For the blue background I applied blue ink to an acrylic block and then swiped it on my paper.  Then I tried adding some "waves" by using my swirl stamp and gesso.  Very messy process!  I used white EP for the sentiment, added a couple twine knots to opposite corners.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week! Blessings!

Feel Batter!

Received this fun digi, "Bat Boy", from Hambo Stamps, free just for joining in their challenge last week!  Used the sketch from My Favorite Things for the layout.
For this weeks challenge at the Hambo Hoedown the twist was to incorporate a banner.  So I cut the sentiment in the shape of a fishtail banner.  Colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  I even added some grass stains to his knees.  Die cut a circle and free handed some lines to get a baseball background.  Added a star brad from my stash.
Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it! God bless!

Sending Joy

This card came together pretty quick.  Used one of my favorite Unity Itty Bitty stamps, Wishing you Joy.  I'm going to send this card to Maddy, who is in St. Jude's fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Check out this post if you'd like to send a little love to Maddy also.
A little late posting today, spent some quality time with my DD. Great day!  Using the sketch from the Viva la Verve June challenge, week 1.  Stamped the image a couple times on white card stock without re-inking to give the flowers in the background a softer look.  Colored the center flower with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  Distressed and inked the edges of my PP.  Spritzed the doily heart with Dylusions Ink Spray.  Sponged some Frayed Burlap Distressed Ink onto the edges of my image panel.  Stamped the sentiment on a piece of twill ribbon with some black Staz On ink.  Finished off with a button tied with twine that was dyed with Barn Door Distressed ink.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by!  God bless!!

Praying for You

Made a sympathy card using my Our Daily Bread Designs Poppy stamp and die.
Used some Dylusions Ink Spray on the background paper.  For the tag I laid ink down on my craft mat and spritzed with water, I then laid the tag in the ink/water until covered.  Stamped the poppy with Versamark ink and embossed with black EP.  Colored the copy with come old Crayola watercolor pencils and cut with the die.  Added the sentiment tag with black and white bakers twine.  Added a button brad to the top of the tag and adhered the layers on to my card base.
Thanks for taking time to stop by, feel free to leave a comment.
God bless!!

Blowing Bubbles

Ok, so sometimes I get an idea but when I try to put it on paper it doesn't turn out quite the way I envisioned it.  I wanted to join in the Hambo Hoedown this week, so I downloaded one of their Digital Freebie stamps, "Wind".  The twist to this weeks challenge was to incorporate bubbles.  Well, I thought the "Wind" would look cute blowing bubbles.  Tried making bubbles with Glossy Accents, they didn't turn out as good as I had envisioned them.
This is the way it turned out.  I used the sketch from this weeks Tuesday Morning Sketches for the layout.  Curled the banner to give it a wind blown look.  My "bubbles" are Glossy Accent and gems.  I used some chalk on the image to give it a little color.  Guess I will put my thinking cap back on and try making the "bubbles" with another medium.
